Gulf Coast International Properties and their team take great pride in being able to serve our country and community. Passion, dedication, and caring are just a few words that describe our commitment. Through participation in fundraisers, community sponsorships, volunteer time, and hands-on activities, our goal is to enrich the lives of those living in our community and to provide support to local organizations.

In Gulf Coast International Properties continuing effort to support the community we live in, GCIP was one of the sponsors of the Relay for Life of Naples. Each year there are an estimated four million participants worldwide who participate in local Relay for Life events to raise much-needed funds, and awareness to save lives from cancer. For many years a Relay for Life has been held here in Naples. This year an estimated 5,000 visitors cheered on over 900 participants. The event was a tremendous success with more than 200 survivors honored and over $400,000 raised.
The Fit ‘N Fun Field Day Unplugged was held at the Community School and was a huge success with over 200 people enjoying lots of family activities such as a game passport, tug-o-war, an obstacle course, dizzy bat race, a dog trick, soccer dribble, rock wall, face painting and so much more. Everyone enjoyed delicious BBQ, snow cones, and ice cream. The event was hosted by The Shelter’s NextGen Committee and the MC was John Trierweiler of WINK News This Morning. Gulf Coast International properties was a sponsor of the event, while Carter Wheeler, a REALTOR® with the firm, also lent his support to this event and has two children that attend this school.
Cambier Park in Olde Naples received a major renovation that was revealed in the fall of 2014. Before the revovation only the toddler playground had a fence, but through donations from Celebration Community Beach Church, families and businesses like Gulf Coast International Properties, there is now a fence around the older children’s playground as well. The committee for the playground project offered the planks for inscribing as a way to raise additional funds. The team at GCIP is now honored to have its name on one of the fence planks just as you enter the park. Cambier Park is truly a local treasure where many generations of families have been going since its inception 67 years ago.
For many years, Peter Savage, Broker, and Michael McCumber, REALTOR® and one of the Principals at our company, have been assisting the Freedom Waters Foundation. This not-for-profit organization established in 2006, provides boating opportunities and marine activities for people with disabilities, life-threatening illnesses, youth at risk and others with special needs. In 2012 these services were expanded to include veterans. Both Pete and Mike are boat owners and have been honored to offer their time and watercraft ‘free of charge’ for those in need. They support the mission of the Freedom Waters Foundation throughout the year and are proud to be helping the community they call home.
The Gulf Coast International Properties team was recently involved in helping build a home through Habitat for Humanity. The need in Collier County is tremendous with many residents of inland communities falling below the poverty line. Part of the misconception is that these homes are given away for free when in fact these homes are purchased by families that make monthly payments on them amounting to no more than 30 percent of their income. Habitat for Humanity underwrites interest-free loans for its families who must be able to pay the mortgage. The team at Gulf Coast International Properties works with Habitat for Humanity throughout the year as opportunities arise.
The entire team at Gulf Coast International Properties contributed thousands of dollars and many hours for the success of two local back-to-school events. Project Outreach organizes volunteer-based projects in the community to teach youth about giving back. Having some fun before school started and the community helping the less fortunate were both themes of their event. This is the first year for this event where 300 backpacks filled with school supplies were given out, 25 volunteer hairdressers gave haircuts, and 10 new bikes were given away in a raffle. In addition, The Shelter for Abused Women Back Pack Drive was a tremendous success again this year. The drive involved buying new backpacks, school supplies, clothing, shoes and other necessities for hundreds of children in need. Each year more than 800 child victims and survivors of domestic violence are assisted through safety, intervention and support. The organization also reaches out to more than 17,000 school-age children through presentation and education programs.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast Golf Fore Kids’ Sake event was sponsored in part by the team at Gulf Coast International Properties this year. This event was held at Grey Oaks Country Club and offered a great day of golf, food, fun and raffles. Money raised was given to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast. Collier County’s chapter is a 100% donor supported agency and relies solely on the generosity of its residents. Their mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring professionally supported one-on-one mentoring relationships that change childrens lives for the better, forever.
Fine Clothing, Ruffino Cabinetry and Gulf Coast International Properties hosted a client appreciation night at their businesses on Broad Avenue and Third St. S. It was a fall celebration of fashion, food and fun with over 400 in attendance. Models walked the purple carpet showcasing fashion trends for resort living. The businesses partnered with Project Outreach to collect hundreds of toys for local families. Project Outreach later partnered with Life Christian Church where these toys and gifts were handed out to hold “A Christmas to Remember,” an event benefiting children of low income families.
First Florida Community Bank held its 6th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Hideaway Golf Club. All proceeds raised by GCIP and other corporate sponsors, benefited these charities. The PACE Center for Girls, Inc. is a nationally recognized and research based model that features a balanced emphasis on academics and social services with a focus on the future of middle and high-school aged girls and young women. Grace Place empowers the children and families of Golden Gate city to change the course of their future through education. They also offer a food pantry and work extensively with the community to provide medical and mental health screenings and referrals for other services.
The Naples Art, Antique & Jewelry Show was held again in Naples from February 6 – 10, 2014. With over 16,000 visitors, attendance continues to increase every year. It seems that the word is getting out about this “hidden gem” and what a unique venue it is for purchasing fine antique and estate jewelry, major works of art, American and European silver and much more. The show featured more than 75 internationally acclaimed exhibitors from far and wide. Gulf Coast International Properties was proud to be an exhibitor at this popular event and looks forward to participating again next year.
The second annual Lucas Cup Pro-Am was held at Talis Park this year to benefit the Juvenile Diabetese Research Foundation. The Event was originally organized by Mark and Lisa Lye, whom have actively been searching for a cure for their son Lucas who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of four. As he approaches his ninth birthday, they are moving forward in their search for a cure. Mark, a PGA TOUR veteran and former Golf Channel analyst, also has T1D and wants to see his son, himself and the millions around the world live a life free of this disease. Gulf Coast International Properties was happy to join a number of other corporate sponsors again this year in raising over $400,000 towards this worthy cause.
Gulf Coast International Properties, in its continuing effort to support the community we live in, was one of the sponsors of the Naples Bay Blues Bash to benefit the Bayshore Cultural and Performing Arts Center (CAPA). CAPA’s vision is to give local artists a creative home where their work can be enjoyed by many in the years to come. Once built, the Bayshore CAPA Center plans to house musical theater, opera, ballet, orchestra, chorus and chamber series, artists studios and gallery exhibition space. The facility is slated to include a 700-seat opera-style theater with a 100-150 seat “black box theater”, large and small rehearsal rooms, classrooms, administration offices, and an outdoor performance area.
The 2014 Naples Cup Regatta was held by the Naples Community Sailing Center this year. Adam Carriero, a Realtor with GCIP, also helped with the race as his son Asher is a member of the Naples Community Sailing Center. About 300 sailors, with children ranging in age from 8 to 16 years old participated in the popular event. Many clubs traveled to Naples from across the state including: Edison Sailing Center, Sarasota Youth Sailing, Key Biscayne Yacht Club, Fort Lauderdale Yacht Club, Clearwater Community Sailing Center, Coral Gables Sailing Center, Tampa Yacht and Country Club and many more. Gulf Coast International Properties was honored to be a corporate sponsor of this years race.
For over 16 years the Cove Yacht Club has hosted a fundraiser called “Christmas for Kids”. This is a 100% volunteer project of the Cove Yacht Club’s members and friends. Michael McCumber, one of the Principals of Gulf Coast International Properties, offers two boat trips consisting of three hour sunset cruises for 10-12 people, which has raised thousands of dollars. This project began in 1999 and has continued to grow each year. The first goal is to provide a special holiday for children of families in need. Over 1,600 children have been given shoes, clothing, gifts, and groceries. In addition to the holiday gift giving, the monies raised help pay for tutoring at Lely and Calusa Park Elementary. Over 600 children had been provided tutoring services at no cost to their families.
The team at Gulf Coast International Properties recently continued their tradition of sponsoring the Naples International Film Festival. This non-profit organization benefits the cultural and artistic life of the southwest Florida community. This glamourous multiple day event features a red carpet opening night, three days of films and special events, and a wrap-up party at the Bay House.
Gulf Coast International Properties is proud to sponsor the Naples Town Hall Distinguished Speakers. This non-profit lecture series features leading experts in the areas of history, politics, economics science and culture. Previous years have featured icons such as former President George W. Bush, former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and television anchor Anderson Cooper.
The Wine Tasters of Naples organization has effectively meshed social outings with an overall goal of supporting charitable causes that provide relief to those less fortunate. The organization is also refered to as a club which has grown to well over 400 members in its short eight year history. Proceeds from club fees and corporate sponsors like Gulf Coast International Proerties have collectively raised over $400,000 for local charities such as St. Matthews House, The Shelter for Abused Women and Children, and Youth Haven.
