Waldorf Astoria Naples - Another Name Change and a New Look

09/13/14

The beachfront resort, located at the northern end of the Park Shore community, first opened in 1988 as The Registry Resort and Club. The resort has changed ownership and names over the years and next week will become the Naples Grande Beach Resort as it undergoes an $18 million renovation to update its look and to enhance the guest experience.

The hotel is a popular accommodation for travellers to the area featuring 474 guest rooms, 50 bungalow suites, five restaurants, a spa, fitness center and a tennis facility. Guests also have access to over 100,000 square feet of meeting and special event space. The hotel is surrounded by 20 acres of mangrove estuary and offers access to their secluded beach via a half-mike stroll or trolley ride. There guests can rent a variety of non-motorized water equipment for windsurfing, water biking, paddle boarding, and more.

One of the three outdoor pools has a 100-foot twisting water slide. There is also a smaller, quieter pool with private cabanas for daily rental. The resort is very kid-friendly and runs activities year-round that include arts and crafts, games, visits to the pool and beach, nightly movies, meals, and snacks.

The hotel will remain open during the renovation which is expected to be completed in January 2015.
