5 time Grammy winner Diana Krall will take the stage at Barbara B. Mann to perform her interpretation of works by The Eagles, The Momas and Pappas, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney, and others. Along with 5 Grammys, Diana Krall has received several gold and platinum records for her unique jazzy singing and piano playing. The Wallflower Tour performance begins at 8 pm.
Next up is Michael Cavanaugh, another singer/pianist, taking on the works of Elton John and more accompanied by the Naples Philharmonic Pop Orchestra.
Michael has had Grammy and Tony nods for his performances in "Movin' Out", a popular Broadway show about Billy Joel. Opportunity knocked for Michael one night as he was working in a dual piano show in Vegas. Billy Joel happened to see him and join him for a song or two on the stage. Billy was so impressed with him that he flew Michael out to New York to audition for the lead in "Movin' Out", a show about Billy's life. Michael got the job, moved to New York and proceeded to have a long Broadway run that garnered Tony and Grammy Award nominations for him.
Michael will perform 2 shows in "The Music of Elton John and More" at Artis, formerly known as The Philharmonic. The first show is a 2 pm matinee and the second starts at 8 pm.
