Founded in 1927 the Ryder Cup has become one of the world’s greatest sporting contests as every two years 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. The European’s have won the prior 2 Ryder Cups and are favored to win again when the event takes place this month September 26-28 at Gleneagles. Rory McIlroy, Sergio Garcia and Martin Kaymer highlight the European squad. The United States team will play without Tiger Woods for the first time in his professional career. The 12-man team for America includes Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, Phil Mickelson, Matt Kucher and young guns Jordan Spieth and Jimmy Walker.
