As my son grows older he is becoming more involved in activities around Naples. This summer has been a great experience that will in my opinion help define him for many years to come. Naples is one of the most beautiful waterfront towns in the world and is only made so much more special by the people who make up our community. We have taken part in many different sporting activities and been on a lot of different teams in a dozen different sports from soccer to tennis. From my experience wherever you go in this town there is the top of the line coaching and instructors. Many of them are retired pro athletes who come to Naples and spend there free time teaching the sport that they love. We have been on the T2 swim team for several years and it is a state of the art production in amazing facilities. The coaching staff has atracted olympic quality athletes from all over the country. The swim meets are run in a very professional manner with touch pad timing and a real sence of pro competition. We alo decided to put our 7 year old in sailing this summer right next to the city docks in Old Naples. Another great experience mostly because of the sailing coach and the wonderful equipment. My son absolutly loves it and has joined the team. We are looking forward to our first reggata at the end of August. We have had the same experience with baseball, tennis, and soccer where the staff and coaching gives an oppertunity that is rare (to be taught by the best). We have some of the best golf courses in the world, unbelievable tennis facilities, an ice hocky rink, indoor soccer, and every water sport you can think of! I started going to Naples High School football games in 1996 when I first moved here and ended up becoming a season ticket holder despite the fact that I went to high school in Kentucky. It has been some of the best high school football I have ever seen and makes for a fun start to a friday night.
This is just another great part of living in such an amazing coastal town. Naples has so much more to offer than what you see on the surface. It doesn't matter if you live in Port Royal or Park Shore everything is close by and easily accessable.
