There is a bill that has been introduced in the House of Representatives called "The Canadian Snowbird Visa Act".
The bill would allow Canadians over the age of 50, that own or lease a home in the US, to stay 2 months longer than the current 182 days per year. This is a sensible economic idea considering in Florida alone Canadians spend around $4.5 billion a year.
I know several Canadians that would love to spend more than the current alloted time here without being penalized with double taxation or needing a visa. Let's hope it passes.
