New Home starts to continue to trend upwards in SW Florida according to MetroStudy which is a company that tracks the new home market. MetroStudy noted that overall starts, which include single-family homes, townhouses, condos, and other types of housing have gone up 20 consecutive quarters. For the year ending June 30, overall starts in Collier County rose 30%, to 2,764 from 2,125 last year. The consensus is that starts are likely to slow for the rest of the year as builders concentrate on selling finished inventory rather than starting new spec homes.
