New Construction Boosts Collier's Taxable Property Values

05/31/13

In a report published in the Naples Daily News May 29th states the surge of new construction in Collier County has aided the county's taxable property values and values are up for the second year in a row.

Tax rolls for Collier County show the county's property value as a whole increased to more than $60.5 billion in 2013 from $58.9 billion in 2012. That increase, according to early estimates released Wednesday by Collier County Property Appraiser Abe Skinner, marks a more than 3% increase over the 2012 final tax rolls.

The larger than expected increase was due in large part to a surge in new construction in 2012. Collier saw new construction increase to more than $503.8 million, up from $419.3 million in 2012 or about 20%.
