As we have seen in Naples real estate sales, the tourism business is also experiencing a sharp increase in business. Per the article below, people are returning in large numbes, with total revenue up more than 13% in January over the same time last year. WE are seeing the same level sales increase from Port Royal to Old Naples to Grey Oaks, as the real estate market and Naples waterfront properties enjoys a resurgence.

Collier County saw a spike in tourists in January.

There were 162,000 visitors staying in hotels and other vacation rentals last month, up 10.4 percent from the same month a year ago, according to a report by Tampa-based Research Data Service Inc., a county consultant.

In January, the total economic impact from visitors rose 13 percent year-over year to $121.7 million.

Occupancy rates increased by 12.7 percent to nearly 75 percent, with the average daily rate up 6 percent from a year ago.

While visitation from other parts of Florida was down slightly, it was up from all of the other markets that are tracked by the county’s consultant. Visitation was up more than 33 percent from Europe and up more than 36 percent from Canada.

The Northeastern U.S. brought the most visitors last month — more than 46,000, up 8.1 percent from a year ago. Visitation rose more than 17 percent from the Midwest.
