Gulf Coast International Properties presents the new Naples FEMA flood maps that will indicate for both new and older homes the DFIRM (FIRM stands for Flood insurance rate map). This new standard takes effect May 16th. It is critical if you are going to build on Naples waterfront, inland, from Port Royal to Aqualane Shores to GRey Oaks, that your insurance and real estate agent understand these changes. Overall, the elevation requirements have been lowered, especially on Naples' waterfront homes, but please check with your agent or this map. This will show how high you must build for new homes in Naples based on this and the natural current grade of the land.
