Naples kicked off the holiday season this past week with the tree lighting and snow that brought thousands to 3rd Street South. The weather was perfect and the event was a huge success however if you missed it there are plenty of events planned for this week.
Tuesday December 1st you can celebrate Holiday In The Park in Bonita Springs Riverside Park. There will be Christmas music to accompany the blizzard of snow and giant snow slide, snow pile, train ride, and if thats not enough there will be free christmas cookies!
Wednesday December 2nd will bring the annual tree lighting at Mercato shops. The event starts at 5:00 and will continue well into the evening. There will be live music in the field across from the Silverspot Theater. This celebration boasts the largest live christmas tree in Southwest Florida.
Thursday December 4th is the 41st Annual Christmas Walk & Tree Lighting Ceremony on 5th Avenue South in downtown Old Naples. The festivities will include local choral groups, dance troupes, school choirs and the community come together for the holidays and the traditional lighting of the Tree. Festively decorated storefronts, twinkling lights and Stores open late welcoming all. And, don’t miss Santa and Mrs. Claus as they pose for photos and hand out candy but line up early as they are very popular. Immediately following the lighting of the Tree and decorations, activities will kick off on 5th Avenue with choral groups, musical ensembles, dance troupes and community groups with Holiday activities until 8:30 p.m. Make 5th Avenue South a part of your holiday experience! Note that 5th Avenue will be blocked to vehicular traffic starting at 2pm to allow for set up for the event!
