This year will celebrate the 24th year of the Naples Cup Regatta. Naples Community Sailing Center has hosted this regatta for 14 years. It is held in Lowdermilk Park and attracts around 300 sailors. This prestigious regatta attracts sailors from all over the United States. Naples Cup offers racing for many different classes of boat including opti, laser, and 420s. A majority of the racers will be in the optimist class broken into 4 groups; red, white, blue, and green.
The NCSC team is one of the elite racing clubs in Florida regularly posting top 10 finishes in all classes of competition. The club has had the honor of sending members to international regattas representing the U.S. team. During the tear the club will compete in over 20 regattas throughout Florida and often traveling to competitions in other states. In past few years they have gone to New Orleans, New York, and North Carolina.
NCSC is a community-based, not for profit organization. They have been teaching kids to sail since 1991.. Located in downtown Old Naples at the Naples Landing. The organization depends upon the generosity of the community and volunteer support to help keep the program running. The mission of NCSC is to organize, promote and develop a family and community based program of safe recreational and competitive sailing for the moral and physical development and enjoyment of area youth and adults. It is the goal of NCSC to instill self confidence, encourage responsibility, and promote the development of integrity and sportsmanship.
