Naples, FL has once again claimed the #1 spot of "Golf Capital of the World" for its abundance of golf holes.
The report, released this week by the National Golf Foundation, tracks 18 hole equivalents ranked Naples #1 for its private clubs. A true testament to the fine golf course communities in our area. The Naples-Marco Island metropolitan statical area, which also held the top spot last year, has 1,350 golf holes for a population of 324,424, meaning there were 212 people for every golf hole, according to the report.
Collier County planning records show there are 91 public, private and semi-private golf courses. Naples, FL plays host to a PGA Golf Tour Event hosted by Greg Norman, a Sr. PGA Tour Event hosted at the Club TwinEagles and an LPGA Tour Event hosted at Twin Eagles.
