Yesterday the Naples City Council made a truly historic vote. Before Council was a simple question of whether to spend $3 million to purchase 6.7 acres along the Gordon River, to add to the 8.5 acres they already own. By the end of the meeting, they had committed $5.5 million to buy the land and build what, at 14+acres, will be the largest open park space in the city, and to complete the southern terminus of the Gordon River Greenway! So as it stands now, Naples City Council members will commit the substantial additional resources required to building a park and the Greenway Bridge, to cross the river from the 8.5 acres the city owns to airport property on the eastern bank. What do you want to see at the new Naples park on the Gordon River?
