Historic Palm Cottage - Scott Pearson Naples, FL Naples dates back to the 1800s where it originally began as a hunting and fishing village. With the addition of the Olde Naples Hotel, wealthy people started to vacation and build homes here.
Walter Haldeman, a newspaper owner/publisher from Louisville, Kentucky is known as the founder of Naples. He built the first home which was an annex to the hotel known as Palm Cottage.
The Hotel is gone but Palm Cottage is still standing and an interesting tour for those intrigued by the early days of Naples. One block east of the Naples Pier. Click the link below for the schedule, phone number and specific address.
