Located geographically in the middle of Naples just across the road from Grey Oaks Country Club is a small neighborhood developed in the early 1990s by the Collier family called Hawksridge. This is a small single-family gated community made up of 90 homesites (6 of which are still vacant lots). The neighborhood was crafted with the intent of preserving as much green space as possible which in turn has created a very mature environment including several Cypress preserves, a tranquil fish-filled lake, and meandering walkways shaded nicely by the mature Pine trees. Each road within the community is labeled by a large stone sign, lined with ageless black street lamps, and ends in a cul-de-sac giving privacy and significantly reducing drive-by traffic. Near the entrance to Hawksridge is a large fenced playground for children to enjoy as well as a clubhouse and two lighted tennis courts. The clubhouse is equipped with state-of-the-art workout equipment, a casual meeting room, a full kitchen, and men's and women's locker rooms. The community fee is very low comparatively costing only $250.00 a quarter which serves to keep the neighborhood beautiful providing seasonal plantings in the common areas as well as upkeep of the lake, gate, and amenities. From your driveway to downtown Naples and the sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico never takes more than 15 minutes even in the height of the season mainly because this area is flush with golf courses (Grey Oaks, Estuary, Naples Grande, Bears Paw, Wilderness, Royal Poinciana, Hole-in-the-wall, Country Club of Naples, and Quail Run) making it a very low-density area.
Because of Hawksridge being such a small community there have never been many homes on the market. The last few closed sales have topped out at about $240 per square foot. Vacant lots have averaged around $350,000 over the past few years however not many more unbuilt lots exist. In the back of the community overlooking the Royal Poinciana Golf Course is a development of 90 coach homes called The Colony at Hawksridge. Built in 2000-2001 these condos range from 2,000 sq. ft. for a 1st-floor unit and 2,580 sq. ft. for a 2nd-floor unit with an average sales price of around $160 per square foot. They feature high ceilings, a 2-car garage, and good-sized lanais. This community also has its own clubhouse, exercise room, heated pool, and spa. There are currently 6 units on the market in The Colony starting at $349,000 and topping out at $482,000.
