Anyone who lives in Naples and Marco Island knows that we live in a boater’s paradise. This has now been confirmed by a prestigious list of the best yacht clubs in America naming three Yacht Clubs in Collier County to its list of the top 20. They include the venerable Naples Yacht Club, situated on Naples Bay in the heart of downtown Naples; Pelican Isle Yacht Club, five minutes from the Gulf of Mexico at Wiggins Pass on the Cocohatchee River; and Marco Island Yacht Club on the Marco River.
All three were selected for the Platinum Clubs of America 2014-2016 list of top 20 yacht clubs, Naples as No. 8, Pelican Isle as No. 14 and Marco Island as No. 16. “We are excited and honored by our recent Platinum Clubs of America recognition,” General Manager at Pelican Isle Yacht Club Robert J. Platinum Club recognition is a respected award in the private club industry with only the top 4 percent of private clubs receiving platinum status. Platinum Clubs of America is managed by Club Leaders Forum. Initiated in 1997, the Platinum Clubs of America vote takes place every other year and is conducted through a nationwide vote of 4,400 club managers and presidents or owners.
