Mara Muller’s tremendous success in the world of Naples real estate came by way of a remarkable journey, highlighted by both achievement and a passion for learning anything new. A native of Boston, MA, Mara spent her early years in Southern California while her father was a physician in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Her parents returned to the northeast and she attended the Moses Brown School in Providence, RI. Mara went on to earn degrees in English Literature and Art History at the renowned McGill University in Montreal, Canada. But Mara’s desire to learn reached far beyond the classroom; after working for a few years in San Francisco, CA, she set out to see the world, visiting more than 25 countries, and completely circumnavigating the globe over the course of a year. At the conclusion of her travels, she taught intensive Business English courses to high ranking executives and military officials at a residential, immersion school located in a castle in Spa, Belgium for several years, which allowed her to gain a better understanding of the fine points of business negotiation.
In 1996 after the birth of her first daughter, Mara decided to move her growing family to Naples, to be closer to her parents. She and her mother, Trudy, opened the nationally recognizedTrudy Labell Fine Art which featured the finest contemporary American artists. In 2002, with her daughters both now in school, Mara decided to use her diverse skill set and knowledge of the luxury market to enter the real estate market. She was the John R Wood Realtors 2002 "Rookie of the Year", achieving sales of $11,000,000 her first year, a record that still stands. She was honored by the Women's Council of Realtors® with the Top Producer Awards three years in a row and Gulfshore Life magazine has awarded her the Five Star: Best in Client Satisfaction for the past nine years. For the next 9 years, she worked with Premier Sotheby’s International Realty. Shortly after acquiring her broker’s license in 2008, Mara sold a home to her now business partner, Amy Kodak. The two got along so well, they decided combine their expertise, and became a formidable duo in the Naples real estate scene, joining Gulf Coast International Properties in 2016.
Mara turned one of her hobbies into a profitable secondary business when her handmade jewelry was discovered by the fashion editor of a Naples magazine. She founded her own custom jewelry line named Mara Labell Designs, for which she personally designs each piece. From the very inception of her line, every piece has also been carefully handmade with the finest natural materials. Her jewelry is now available for purchase in exclusive boutiques across the country, from The Gallery at the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort in Naples, FL, to The Passionate Collector in Newport Beach, CA. Her work has also been featured in many local and national publications, such as Gulfshore Life and Naples Illustrated.
Mara's two daughters are now in college and hers is a house divided! One attends the University of Florida, while the other attends Florida State University. She lives in Pelican Bay where she enjoys the great bicycling and amazing beaches.
Mara has been incredibly blessed in both her family and business lives, which has led her to find more ways to give back. She decided to get involved in the Make-A-Wish Foundation upon her good friends recommendation, which has been one of the most fulfilling commitments of her life. She was nominated to sit on the committee for the organization’s annual Tea at the Ritz Carlton, which raises funds to fulfill the wishes of sick children each year. This year the event was completely sold out, and raised more than $20,000, which allowed the Foundation to grant wishes to at least four sick children. In addition to her time, Mara also donates many pieces from her jewelry line to several Make-A-Wish events each year.
