5 Celebrities Who Have Called Naples Home

Naples is one of the sunniest and wealthiest cities in the world, so it makes sense why celebrities would flock to own a piece of Naples luxury real estate. From state-of-the-art yacht clubs to the most delicious waterfront restaurants, the city is a tropical oasis filled with exciting things to do and equally exciting people. Here are five famous names that have called Naples home over the years.

Judge Judy

The highest-paid host on television, Judy Sheindlin makes a whopping $47 million annually from her court show Judge Judy. Sheindlin has ruled in favor of Naples since 2005 when she purchased a $6.9 million penthouse condo which she then sold for $11 million in 2015. Sheindlin traded in the condo for an $8.6 million mansion that includes a library, several waterfalls, and over 10,500 square feet.

Larry Bird

Larry Bird has found Naples an escape from the chilly Indiana basketball weather for over two centuries now. Bird purchased his first property in the area in 1993 before exchanging that for a custom-built residence in 2001 worth $4.6 million. The property features standard luxury amenities like an infinity pool and theater as well as more creative additions such as a tiki hut and saltwater aquarium.

Mike Ditka

Larry Bird isn’t the only sports figure to make a home in Naples--Super Bowl-winning coach Mike Ditka resides in the area as well. Though he may be known for his football past, Ditka likely enjoys the golf lifestyle now, living near TPC Treviso Bay, Naples Grande Golf Club, and Tiburon Golf Club

Janet Evanovich

Bestselling author Janet Evanovich moved to Naples from rural New Hampshire over 15 years ago, saying it immediately felt like where she belonged. Living in Port Royal, Evanovich says the beautiful beaches are her favorite part of the area. With a gorgeous home on the waterfront, Evanovich can now write her novels by the ocean.

Bob Seger

Naples is also home to popular musicians, as iconic rocker Bob Seger owns a condo in the area. Originally from Detroit, Seger traded in the Midwest for the South several years ago. Seger will soon spend more time in his luxury home; he announced his farewell tour last year that is set to end this May.
