Moving From Minnesota To Naples, FL - By Scott Pearson

10/28/12

Last week I had family in town from Minnesota and I was reminded of why I live in Naples. They were so happy to be here and so appreciative of everything. From the second they stepped out of the airport they were ranting about how beautiful the Naples weather was. We put the car windows down which I hadn't done for a long time and you know what? They were right, the balmy air was perfect and refreshing. We dropped their things off and headed to Vanderbilt Beach. I hadn't been to the beach for a while and to be honest with you I have no idea why. We sat on the beach and had lunch while soaking in the sun. It's amazing how quickly sitting on the beach can re-energize a person. We had great conversations while walking on the beach, played around in the Gulf, found a few good shells, and had fun watching everyone else on the beach doing the same thing. During the week we also enjoyed warm weather walks after coffee in the morning, took in several different restaurants for lunch and dinner, went through a few art galleries off 3rd St, played cards on the lanai in the late afternoon, and watched several sunsets on the beach in the evening over a cocktail. These activities never get old, especially when you are with good friends and family. I dropped them off at the airport a week later completely rejuvenated. They were disappointed to be leaving...I was thankful to be staying. I drove away and reflected on the week and smiled. Naples truly is a unique and special place to be.
